MARISOL VALERIO
Marisol Valerio is a Principal Rock Mechanics Engineer based in WSP’s Vancouver, Canada office. She has over 16 years of experience in mining geotechnical engineering, with a focus on rock mechanics engineering for open pit slopes. As a senior consultant with WSP, Marisol has worked on a variety of mining projects throughout North America, South America, and Australia. In recent years, she has led several projects involving the use of discrete fracture network applications for rock mass characterization and pit slope design.
Marisol is a strong advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion in the mining industry. She is one of the co-founders of the Women in Open Pit Mining group, a global industry group that aims to connect, advocate for, and empower women who work in technical fields within open pit mining.
