Dr. Cibele Cláuver holds a PHD in Metallurgical and Mining Engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), complemented by a master's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a bachelor's degree in Geological Engineering from the prestigious Escola de Minas de Ouro Preto.
With more than three decades of practical experience in the mineral, oil and gas sectors, Dr. Cláuver plays a fundamental role in shaping the landscape of Applied Geophysics. His experience revolves around applying cutting-edge geophysical methodologies to characterize rock masses and monitor movements of slopes and dam structures, catalyzing innovative advances in geotechnical engineering. Dr. Cláuver's leadership has been fundamental to the successful execution of pioneering projects in Brazil, highlighting her proficiency in geophysics applied to geotechnical engineering and her innate spirit of innovation.
In academia, Dr. Cláuver serves as a dedicated professor at the Federal University of Viçosa, where she is actively involved in leading cutting-edge research projects in geophysics applied to rock mechanics. Through her role, she not only promotes advancement in the field, but also nurtures the next generation of geotechnical engineers and researchers. Her focus extends to teaching Civil Engineering subjects and carrying out research in geophysics applied to geotechnical engineering, ensuring a comprehensive approach to the dissemination and practical application of knowledge.
